Privacy policy

Who we are

Inter Imports is operated by Pacific Fund Pty Ltd, ABN 75 143 185 406. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the Inter website, contact us or use an Inter account. Our postal address is PO Box 27, Mill Park VIC 3082, Australia.

Information we collect

We collect the information you provide in contact and quote forms, applications and correspondence. This can include your name, email address, telephone number, organisation, role, requirements and any delivery details or purchase-order references you choose to supply. Supplier and reseller applications may include business descriptions, website addresses and product information.

If you use an account, we also hold account and verification details, organisation memberships and permissions, and records of your activity such as applications, quotes and orders. Inter uses the same account foundation as MM. Your password is stored as a protected hash, not as readable text. Organisation administrators can see information needed to manage their organisation and its purchasing activity.

Our systems record technical and security information, including IP addresses, request times, sign-in activity and enquiry attempts. We use this to operate the site, investigate faults and prevent spam, fraud and unauthorised access.

How and why we use it

We use information to respond to enquiries, assess sourcing and trade applications, administer accounts, prepare quotes and manage agreed supply, support and business records. We also use it to secure our services, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Information may come from you or from an authorised representative of your organisation. Please only provide other people's details when you are authorised to do so, and make them aware of this policy.

You can browse without an account. Our forms need a name, reply email address and message so we can respond; a general contact enquiry does not require an organisation or telephone number. You may use a preferred name or contact us by post for a general enquiry. Some account, supply or information-access requests require us to verify your identity or authority. If necessary details are withheld, we may be unable to complete the request. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or sensitive personal information through an enquiry form.

Who can receive information

Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for these purposes. These include our authorised operators and providers of hosting, email, technical support and professional advice. If a supply arrangement needs information shared with a supplier or delivery provider, we share only what is needed for that arrangement. We may also disclose information where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell personal information. Identifiable enquiries, negotiated prices and purchasing records are not made available to unrelated MM customers or automatically added to PhotoGear marketing lists. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Any separate marketing communications will provide a way to opt out.

Storage, security and retention

The Inter application and its primary database are hosted in the Amazon Web Services Sydney region in Australia. Enquiries are stored in our restricted staff workspace. We may also hold related correspondence in our business email and records systems. Our service providers may use overseas support or infrastructure; please contact us if you need details about the providers or locations relevant to your information before submitting it.

We use access controls, encrypted connections, backups and security logging to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry or business relationship, recordkeeping, security, dispute resolution and legal obligations. Enquiry records are reviewed for deletion or de-identification when no longer needed; they are not automatically deleted after a fixed period. Backup copies may remain until the applicable backup cycle ends.

Cookies and other websites

We use essential cookies for sign-in and session security. Blocking these may prevent account features from working. The Inter site does not currently use advertising trackers or third-party behavioural analytics. Links to other websites are governed by those websites' own privacy policies. Online payment collection is not enabled at launch; do not send payment details through our forms.

Access, correction and complaints

To request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about deletion, obtain a copy of this policy or raise a privacy concern, use our privacy contact form or write to the Privacy Contact, Inter Imports, PO Box 27, Mill Park VIC 3082, Australia. Include enough detail for us to locate the relevant records, without sending sensitive identity documents. We may arrange a separate identity check to protect your information.

We will investigate privacy complaints and aim to respond within 30 days. If more time is needed, we will explain why and keep you informed. If we cannot provide access, make a correction or delete a record, we will explain the reason, subject to legal restrictions. If your concern remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, which can advise whether it can assist.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the revised date above. We will provide additional notice where a material change affects how we handle your information or where required by law.
